Re: Willy Beamish on GOG

GOG is on a roll with the "oddball" titles. I hope they keep it up! *cough* Manhunter *cough*

Re: Floppy versus CD versions

Makes sense. I think Loom had a similar issue with space on the CD. Well, it's nice of GOG to include both. When I get around to it, maybe I'll start with the floppy version then.

Floppy versus CD versions

I just got Freddy Pharkas from GOG the other day and it includes both a floppy and CD version. I was wondering what the difference was. Obviously the CD has voices. Put another way: why wouldn't I want play the CD version? It just seemed a little strange that GOG would include both if there wasn't a...

Re: Manhunter playthrough

That's good to hear. One thing though, a quick glance at the comments left me wondering if people thought that *I* was responsible for the Shrine instead of just the videos. I was wondering if you could make that a bit more clear. At least on the Facebook post. The webpage itself is pretty clear. I'...

Re: Manhunter (Fan) Website.

Along the lines of IPs and such - Marvel (Comics) sold off various "characters" to various movie studios (before they were saved by Disney), so for example, FOX owns the X-MEN related movie rights and FANTASTIC FOUR, and SONY owns the SPIDER-MAN movie rights... So one thing a lot of fans have been ...

Re: Manhunter (Fan) Website.

There was some question of who has the rights to Callahan's Crosstime Saloon . Josh Mandel and I were talking about repackaging it and giving the proceeds to Spider Robinson. He said that he thought he might be able to get the rights for himself, but that was the last time he mentioned it. It would...

Tandy 1000 SX memories... :) These pictures are great. And I have that dust cover! That picture of the Tandy 1000 SX just brought a tear to my eye...

And I agree - I understand that the "core" Quest games were the popular ones - but, as you said, it is an unt...

Re: Manhunter (Fan) Website.

Just a Tandy 1000. The original. No suffix. DOS 2.11, 4.77 MHz 8088 processor and no hard drive. It did have, however, a 16 color monitor *and* dual 360k 5.25" floppy drives. That was really great for Sierra games. Game disk goes in A:, save disk goes in B:. It's still sitting in my parents basemen...

Re: Manhunter (Fan) Website.

I think the first game I had for our Tandy 1000 was "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego". It had only 128k RAM to start, which limited what I could play. I also had "F-15 Strike Eagle". A little later, we added 256k more RAM which led to Starflight and my first Sierra game, PQ1, among others. I ...
