I'd probably go with House Seven. I haven't played any of those.
On the other end of the spectrum, I wouldn't go to House Five. I didn't like Willy Beamish or Heart of China and I think KQ5 is the weakest of the KQ series.

Re: Collector, How could you!!!
I agree. ScummVM is good for people that are looking for a simple setup & aren't comfortable using DOSBox, but it comes with it's share of problems. I setup the Windows version of KQ6 through DOSBox, running it through Windows 3.1. That was NOT fun to set up lol. However, running it through DOSBox ...

Re: Eagles in Big Bear. <3
I've been watching an eagle cam in Hanover PA (https://hdontap.com/index.php/video/stream/bald-eagle-live-cam). A few years ago, it made the news after a big snow storm filled the nest to the point where only the eagle's head was visible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7k1lyO9K0w It just seemed so...

Re: Gold Rush 2.
It is disappointing. :( Any idea why they made it like this? It sounds like they cut many, many corners. They could've outlined the game, or maybe used a beat sheet to write out a synopsis. (Outlines and Beat Sheets are two very helpful tools I use to plan out a story before I write it). Instead, i...

Re: Gold Rush 2.
So I just finished Gold Rush 2 and… it’s not good. I mean really not good. For starters, it is incredibly short and easy. Steam says I clocked 3 hours and managed to complete it without any problems (and 3 hours is probably generous since I lingered and explored in a few places). The game is broken ...

Re: What are you playing now?
I have been forcing myself to try and finish Mass Effect: Andromeda ... interesting that last night, I apparently found a bug in a quest ("Cold, hard Cache") - where if you do one small sequence out of order; you still can proceed; but the datapad becomes impossible to acquire even though the navpo...

Re: DOSBox ECE + Pixel Perfect.
I just noticed that the most recent builds of DOSBox-ECE removed pixel perfect. I checked the Vogons forums and am still unclear about the reason. Something to do with incompatibility with shaders that were also added I think? But why add the shaders and break pixel perfect?

Re: The Sierra Bug Report!
These are a couple of minor glitches and oddities that I noticed: Near the end of Phantasmagoria 2 you have to use an item on a force field or something. When you float the cursor over the field, the cursor changes color meaning you can use the item on the field, but if you click on it, nothing happ...

Re: Codename: Iceman Comic
I think Hollywood has a tendency to G.I. Joe-ify the military: e.g. a person has training in being a paratrooper AND scuba diving AND piloting a jet AND fluent in several languages, etc. Aren't these guys to blame? https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcRv96P5yUd0AvqRKkvbKaKauO8rZr...

Re: Question about Half-Life 2 ...
I've played Half-Life 2, but unfortunately not the other FPSs you've mentioned. I've played Bioshock and Halo on the PC though. I think it's not as frenetic as some of the other FPSs out there so it might fit in your play style. It does have a good story and is well paced. You aren't constantly runn...

Re: Codename: Iceman Comic
Sierra Dynamiz News Magazine V4#2 (Summer, 1991) is my favorite issue... Any particular reason? I remember Spring 1991 because that's when I got both Manhunters for $29.90. Heh. I am in that issue of the magazine; for the Leisure Suit Larry contest - they used a photo I had sent in to them (just as...

Re: Codename: Iceman Comic
I actually found a copy of the magazine here (https://www.sierragamers.com/interaction/). I really regret having tossed these out ages ago. The issue with the mini-comic was actually the first one that I received. Aside from the mini-comic, there are a few references in the game that place it "in th...

Re: Cool little Sierra find...
Codename: Iceman is visually a very beautiful game. But that Sub Sequence is... brutal. The thing is - Running Silent isn't the only thing you need to do. You need to dive the sub down also and get below the cold area - and run silent, so that no heat signatures are detected. The game does little t...

Re: Cool little Sierra find...
Very cool read. Is it me, or does Ken look really dour in that last picture. I remember way back in Interaction Magazine someone writing in that they thought his profile picture looked too "corporate". I think after that they replaced it with a cartoon. Incidentally #2 - how difficult is Codename: I...
