Re: First Person Shooters (Split from New Acquisitions Thread)

DPX: Sure you can see your own eyes move! Just tilt your head in front of the mirror. No, you can't. You might THINK you're seeing your eyes move, but you can't. You're seeing your eyes in one spot and then the next spot, but that's not the same thing as seeing your eyes actually move. Maybe this w...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

As I understand it, one major reason some people feel dizzy or nausea in some first-person games is because in real life, whenever we move our eyes or our heads, the brain shuts off our optic nerves for a fraction of a second, which we don't notice and automatically fill in the gaps. Why does our br...

Re: Leisure Suit Larry sighting in Spectacular Spider-Man #277 (from the 90s!)

A few quick rounds of Leisure Suit Larry? Sounds like the writer just liked the name and didn't understand the game at all. Even so, it's neat to see LSL (or any Sierra game) appear in some other form of media.

Re: Ye Ol' Games Of Yesteryear.

I recall an arcade game (I don't remember the name) where you play a knight moving left to right while fighting enemies in a hallway. You had a sword and shield, and armor, but if you got hit enough times in specific areas, a piece of armor covering that area would get knocked off. Honestly, I'm no...

Knives Out Parasite Doctor Sleep John Wick 3 Fast & Furious: Hobbes & Shaw Us 6 Underground Anna (a bit weird) Ma (super creepy woman) Dark Waters Angel Has Fallen Rambo: Last Blood The Lodge (meh, was O...

Re: The Movie Thread.

I actually liked Iron Man 3. I think some people had issues with it because it was more about Tony Stark as a person and dealing with his PTSD than pure action and cool CGI. I'm glad they showed that. Stark was the only one who had at least a somewhat realistic reaction to the attack on New York in ...

Re: The Movie Thread.

Anyway, never been much of an action film fan and never much liked super hero stuff either. Hope we can move on to the next fad soon. While you don't enjoy it, what about those that do? Why wish to move on to the next fad and ruin it for those who have finally waited this long for super hero ...

So this is a little weird, but on the left-hand side of the URL bar in Chrome and Firefox, it says "not secure." The message is: "Your connection to this site is not secure. You should not enter any sensitive information on this site (for example, passwords or credit cards), because it could be sto...

But why was the Louisiana Purchase necessary?
Probably because Napoleon was intent on selling it and the US figured it'd be better to buy it themselves rather than let another foreign power purchase it and become a potential threat.

Re: The Movie Thread.

Don't you mean The Suicide Squad ? :) I was trying to figure out what this film is. It has some of the characters/actors returning, but they don't give it a "sequel name" like a number "2" or at least a subtitle. So is it a sequel, reboot, or a do-over? Or do they just don't care that much, hence j...

Hold on, that's not Roger! That's the smug-faced idiot villain from SQ5 ... isn't it? ;)
No, that's Roger. The smug-faced idiot you're referring to wears a blue uniform, has dark hair, and looks like a douchebag.

Each Police Quest game excelled at something different. PQ1: Best game at following police procedure and attempting to portray a real cop in a computer game. The one drawback was this game was extremely unforgiving when it came to procedure and driving from place-to-place in the original AGI version...
