Re: First Person Shooters (Split from New Acquisitions Thread)

Let's stop this argument right here, OK? It's completely pointless. At any rate I'm too motion-sick too quickly to play anything 3D with moving camera, and not remotely interested in first-person shooters beyond the hilarious CD-i cult FMV ones. In GK3 camera movement can be avoided, in Sleeping Dra...

Re: First Person Shooters (Split from New Acquisitions Thread)

No your eyes have to move in order for you to be able to look at them. You don't perceive it as moving because they are relatively still, but your eye muscles are working all the same. Plus due to me being cross-eyed I have seen my own disobedient eye move in the mirror. But that's beside the point....

Re: First Person Shooters (Split from New Acquisitions Thread)

DPX: Sure you can see your own eyes move! Just tilt your head in front of the mirror. It's like motion sickness, except the other way round. When I'm in a car, bus, or boat (especially boat), but fortunately not usually trains, I can get ill very easily, particularly if there are a lot of bends in t...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Not for me, I do really need a stationary camera. In GK3 I've figured out where to click and how to use the pre-set camera positions so I have to move the camera as little as possible.

People tell me Portal 2 is so good but I lasted like 5 minutes.

Re: Ye Ol' Games Of Yesteryear.

Teehee... I got in the mood of seeing these games again, and looked up some Pinball Dreams II vids. When we first got a soundcard it was a bit of a disappointment - most games we had didn't work with it and the few we had that did (Jill of the Jungle and Xargon) usually fared worse because of it - b...

Atari 800 XL: European Jigsaws Submission Dragon Castle Draps Lode Runner Mario Bros Donkey Kong We had a Sanyo, that was back in the days when Dad was learning programming and I would've been around 6, so most of that was educative stuff he made himself. But there was also a murder game I recall, a...

Re: The Movie Thread.

Finally broke the movie curse with not 1, but 2 movies I saw for the first time and enjoyed: Zappa - The Alex Winter documentary. I didn't have the means to support the crowd funding, so I hadn't seen this Most Important Zappa Release in the Past Five Years yet. With the death of Zappa's widow, Gail...

Re: The Movie Thread.

I'm thinking ultra-hard what the last film is I saw for the first time, unless you count the three minutes I saw of Police Academy 7 yesterday and the bits of 2019's Cats that all but destroyed the happy memories I had from watching the show way back when. Still can't think of any more recent than C...

Re: Larry Laffer's Great-Grandfather In The Wild West!

'Course, Larry's great-grand pappy was in the wild west, in Freddy Pharkas :D

Laffer comes from Arthur Laffer (that's the guy responsible for the "Laffer Curve" that destroyed US economy under Reagan) and a friend of Al Lowe's.

Yes, that first post is for us to keep track. It shows all characters, which ones are dead, plus our inventory. To new players it would be a spoiler, yes.

Re: What are you playing now?

Well, it's not fantasy-themed. We're trapped on an island and people are falling like flies. You'll wanna read it, trust me :D
