Re: What's this? A piece of paper on the Cliffs of Logic?

I don't have any Sierra receipts, but I still have the receipt for F-15 Strike Eagle from MicroProse (which I guess is making a comeback ) from Radio Shack. One of the big ones they used that took almost a whole sheet of paper even if all you did was buy some batteries. $34.95 in December 1987. That...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)

Hmm. I know more about Gene Roddenberry's Trek than any of the others (don't know much about them). But from what I know about Original Trek, I thought the whole point was to comment on social issues in 1960s America (e.g. religion, sexism, racism, nationalism, global war etc.) through the medium o...

I also have this card from Manhunter 2. Manhunter: New York didn't have one. At least not in my box.

That is pretty awesome. :)

I kept all of my Sierra games on just one. Did you have a save disk for each game? Do they all have art?

Re: Manhunter (And The Future That Almost Happened)

I do remember learning about a proposed Manhunter 3 in the early 2000s. I think by that time it had already fallen through. There was a webpage for it, but a flash animation that was there had already been disabled when I learned of it. I wonder if it was an issue with getting the rights from Sierra...

Re: Dynamix games: GM vs MT

I don't know if this helps, but I use GM whenever it's an option. Since Windows native MIDI isn't very good, I use VirtualMIDISynth with a sound font instead.

Re: Sierra Crossovers.

Sonny Bonds being replaced by the Manhunter. He's still investigating crime, but in a robe and doesn't say much.

Johnny Westland (Codename: Iceman) being replaced by Roger Wilco. Well, Roger was actually a captain at one point, so the submarine sequence should go easier. Right?

Re: What If...

Hmmm. I'd be inclined to go with the Coles as well, but I'm not sure how you pick one over the other. How about Christy Marx? I really enjoyed the two Conquest games when I did my playthroughs a while ago. I'd need to think more about what it could be about. Maybe Beowulf since it fits into the lege...

Re: So which house are you staying in and why?

I'd probably go with House Seven. I haven't played any of those.

On the other end of the spectrum, I wouldn't go to House Five. I didn't like Willy Beamish or Heart of China and I think KQ5 is the weakest of the KQ series.

Re: Collector, How could you!!!

I agree. ScummVM is good for people that are looking for a simple setup & aren't comfortable using DOSBox, but it comes with it's share of problems. I setup the Windows version of KQ6 through DOSBox, running it through Windows 3.1. That was NOT fun to set up lol. However, running it through DOSBox ...

Re: Eagles in Big Bear. <3

I've been watching an eagle cam in Hanover PA (https://hdontap.com/index.php/video/stream/bald-eagle-live-cam). A few years ago, it made the news after a big snow storm filled the nest to the point where only the eagle's head was visible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7k1lyO9K0w It just seemed so...

Re: Gold Rush 2.

It is disappointing. :( Any idea why they made it like this? It sounds like they cut many, many corners. They could've outlined the game, or maybe used a beat sheet to write out a synopsis. (Outlines and Beat Sheets are two very helpful tools I use to plan out a story before I write it). Instead, i...

Re: Gold Rush 2.

So I just finished Gold Rush 2 and… it’s not good. I mean really not good. For starters, it is incredibly short and easy. Steam says I clocked 3 hours and managed to complete it without any problems (and 3 hours is probably generous since I lingered and explored in a few places). The game is broken ...
